Snakeskin Strappies
Shoes - Thrifted; Necklace - Bakers; Cuff and Ring - Premiere; Belt - NY & Co.
These shoes are my favorite part of this outfit, although I'm quite happy about how the outfit came together. Mother Nature can't quite figure out if she wants it to be spring or winter, so I've found that my best bet with classes and work is to dress in layers. But the fact that it has warmed up enough to be able to wear open-toed shoes is flippin fantastic! These puppies were found at Plato's Closet for $8 if I remember correctly. And worth EVERY Penny. THeya re actually pretty comfy, too. I've worn them to work a couple of times.
I struggled for quite some time to find a necklace that mixed metals as well as the fabulous cuff that husby bought me for Christmas last year. This gem was spotted as a co-worker and I breezed through a mall in Columbus to eat at the foodcourt before heading home from work meetings. My company's Columbus office is located within a mall....while I briefly considered relocating there when the office first opened, once I found that out I took my name out of consideration. We'd be bankrupt if I worked that close to shopping all the time!!

Good Girl Gone Bad
.
This was another Jessica inspired outfit from Surely Sonsy. However, as with most imitations, mine didn't nearly measure up to hers. I really liked the leather jacket with the super feminine skirt, so I paired my black leather with my heather gray pleated beauty. But with all of my outfit being black and gray, I needed to add the champagne pink scarf to lighten things up. Outfit would have been better if: my jacket was cropped; or my skirt was more fitted. I felt a little overpowered and like I was hiding my body, which I don't like to really do anymore. That being said, overall I liked the outfit once I ditched the jacket and would definitely like to try this look again. I definitely have to give a shout out to Jessica again for giving me another way to style my many scarves. The double loop knotted in back will definitely appear again.

October Skies
Earrings, Ring and Necklace - Baker's; Cuff - Premiere (Gift from Husby); Shoes - Franco Sarto (TJ Maxx)
Had to get a closeup of the ring because I think it's so cool. It's an owl and it seems like he's watching me type when I'm at work. Creepy? No..kinda feels lucky. He turns the bottom of my finger green so I can't wear him very often, but it will take a lot fot me to part with Ollie. (yes, I'm a dork and named my ring)
.
I had lots of things to do this day, which required lots of walking, so I thought I'd put my Franco shoes to the test to see if they were worth keeping (I was dubious about their practicality). They failed. MISERABLY. So badly, in fact, that after 4 hours of work (where I spend most of my time in a chair) and a chiropractic appointment, I went to the Plato's Closet next door, took them off my feet and promptly sold them. I then walked barefoot around the store until I found a pair of flats that would allow me to trek to campus for my last final of the quarter without making me want to cut my feet off and found a gorgeous pair of red plaid Jessica Simpson flats which I'm sure will be coming up in posts very soon. And even Husby was proud of my practicality and inventiveness.
.
As for my absence...After working two 16 hour days last week, I needed a break, so I took Friday off. Then, the family, myself included, all came down with a bug that had me out for the count until yesterday. I doubt anyone wants to see pictures of my kiddie-puke-encrusted T's and sweats with unbrushed hair or teeth. I'm back now and, aside from some nasty coughs, all of us are again healthy. More posts will be coming soon, OCTOBER!! :-)

Shades of Gray
Or is it Grey?? I can never remember.

Silver Flats - Bakers; Necklaces - Premiere, Ring - Macy's; Earrings - Chico's
I didn't realize how many vests I owned until I was getting ready this morning. Since I'm on a 4-10's schedule until I finish school, I definitely have enough to have a vest themed week. The only bad thing is that this is by far my most interesting vest. The others are all black, or dark brown and very conventional, so I'll have to get a little creative. But I think I'm up for the Challenge!!. Vest Week, Here we Go.
.
And I'd like to take a moment to comment on my hair. I bought some of those foam rollers to try putting in my hair overnight on a lark, just to see what would happen, and I am super-de-duper thirilled. These babies are going to get utilized a bunch! And they made it way easier to get ready for work in the moring. YAY!!
